On Saturday October 1, 2016, the 26th annual Komen Houston Race for the Cure kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month in downtown Houston.

Over 20,000 people participated in the race, including 2,400 breast cancer survivors. The race is the largest annual fundraiser for Susan G. Komen Houston, which helps to fund local programs that provide breast health education, breast cancer screening and treatment.
