Burbank Student Think Pink!
In honor of breast cancer awareness month (BCAM), Burbank Middle School students decided to support the cause and raise funds for Komen through a friendly competition among grade levels. Students sold ribbons, teachers sold cupcakes and everyone was motivated and moved to dig deep down into their pockets to meet the school goal of $2,000. The grade that raised the most money would present the check to Komen at a special pink event. And because the school met its goal, teachers followed through with promises of shaving their heads and mustaches and coloring their hair pink. Through this activity students learned the gift of giving and learned a valuable lesson about the power of coming together to make a difference in this world. Thank you Burbank students and teachers!
