Research Grants in our Affiliate Service Area
Each year Affiliates across the country contribute 25% of their net income to the Komen National Award and Research Grant Program. For the Komen Houston Affiliate, this represented just over $1 million in 2011-2012.
In the last five years, three leading cancer centers in Houston have received 58 Komen National Research Grants totaling $46 million. Grant Recipients include Baylor College of Medicine, MD Anderson Cancer Center and The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
