National Partnerships
Are you looking for different ways to help in the fight against breast cancer? The Komen Houston Affiliate is the beneficiary of some of the fundraising dollars from these National Programs. Thank you for continuing to support these programs that allow us to make grants to many local organizations to fulfill our promise to end breast cancer forever!
Rally for the Cure®
Rally for the Cure is a grassroots program designed to spread awareness about breast health and breast cancer through volunteered organized golf, tennis and social events. In partnership with Condé Nast Publications, Rally empowers people to support the mission of Susan G. Komen for the Cure by spreading awareness in their community through an activity they are passionate about. Volunteer Ambassadors host and plan the events locally.
Would you like to host an event? Rally for the Cure provides a registration packet to get you started on your golf, dining or tennis event. Participants pay a $20 entry fee which enables them to receive the materials Rally provides, i.e. a goody bag, breast cancer awareness materials from Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, as well as a pin – designed for Rally for the Cure – featuring the symbolic pink ribbon.

Bowl for the Cure®
Would you like to help in leading the fight towards a cure in sight? Do you like to bowl and have fun? Join us, the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and The Bowling Foundation in the fight for a cure by participating in their Bowl for the Cure program.
Bowling leagues designate one league session of their choice each season as a Bowl for the Cure event. Also, each bowler can designate one league night to donate a specific amount, such as a nickel per pin, or stage pledge nights, raffles and auctions.

Passionately Pink for the Cure®
Wear Pink. Raise Funds. End Breast Cancer Forever!
Are you inspired to save a life? We think you are! Go Passionately Pink for the Cure® and turn your passion into action! With your help, we can move closer to a world without breast cancer. Will you join us?
Kicking off this May and running all year long, Passionately Pink for the Cure is a fun and easy fundraising program that raises breast cancer awareness, inspires advocacy and honors those affected by the disease.
The premise is simple: Go pink to fight breast cancer!
How to go Passionately Pink:
1. Get a group of friends or co-workers together to go Passionately Pink for the Cure.
2. Choose a team captain to register your group at passionatelypink.org.
3. Select the date(s) for your Passionately Pink day(s).
4. Plan your event. Dress in crazy pink outfits. Honor a breast cancer survivor with a nice luncheon. The day’s activities are completely up to you!
5. Invite your team members, letting them know to wear pink!
6. Collect donations from each team member on your Passionately Pink day. (Make sure each personal check has your team ID written in the memo area!)
7. Send the donations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
When your team captain registers your group, he or she will receive a free kit. This kit will include everything you need to get started — event day ideas, a promotional poster, a Passionately Pink guidebook, collectors’ pins that feature the Passionately Pink logo, basic breast health information, a donation reply form, a matching gift checklist and a reply envelope to make it easy to return donations to Komen. Yoplait – Save Lids to Save Lives®
We encourage you to join us this fall and show your commitment to the cure by participating in Yoplait’s Save Lids to Save Lives® program. Throughout the months of September and October, be sure to purchase Yoplait Yogurt and save as many pink lids as possible, then mail all of your pink lids to Yoplait by December 31, 2010. For each pink lid that is mailed in by customers, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to Komen.

Bank of America Pink Ribbon Banking
Bank of America is proud to join forces with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, encouraging customers to “Make every purchase PINK”. Bank of America has created co-branded financial service products that drive funds to our organization. The funds we receive come from new credit and check cards issued, new checking accounts opened in conjunction with the program, as well as renewal and use of credit and check cards.
For Credit Cards:
For each new Susan G. Komen for the Cure branded credit card account opened and activated, Komen receives a minimum of $3 and 0.20% of all net retail purchases made with the card. For example, 20 cents for every $100. Komen also receives $1 for each annual renewal of the card. Apply now!
For Checking Accounts/Debit Cards:
For each new checking account and/or debit card opened, Komen will receive $2 and an additional $1 on each annual anniversary of the account opening. Komen will also receive 10 cents for every $100 you

Nordstrom Fits America
Each day is purely another day, giving us another chance to end breast cancer. Wouldn’t you like to say you helped find a cure? Please join us and Nordstrom in their Nordstrom Fits America program for your chance to help end breast cancer.
This March through December, Nordstrom will invite women across the nation to make appointments to attend a Nordstrom Fits America event. During these events, Nordstrom certified experts will conduct complementary bra fittings for the guests. For every bra purchased at these events, $1 will be donated by Nordstrom, as well as $1 donated by participating brands.

Fit for the Cure
This year, Wacoal is celebrating their 11th anniversary of the Fit for the Cure program and we would like you to join in. This program can find you the perfect fit with professional bra fittings. Wacoal will donate $2 for every woman that is fitted at Fit for the Cure events. Also, they will donate $2 for every Wacoal bra or shapewear item or b.tempt’d bra purchased at these events.
In addition, Wacoal has also made the “Wacoal Promise” where every woman who signs up for an event will also receive a special email to remind them about conducting monthly breast self-examinations.
