Physical Arrangements Volunteers

Komen Houston has amazing volunteers! Four of our volunteers work together each year to lead the Physical Arrangements Committee for the Race for the Cure.

Thank You to Rebecca Tallet, Tracy Rohrbacher, Deena Billingsley and Michelle Mechling for their amazing dedication and service!

Annie Stafford, Special Events Manager says "This group of girls truly exemplify what team effort and volunteerism means. They give countless hours to helping us map out the race site and expo and are there when the entire race site is being set up and broken down. They are always smiling no matter the heat, cold or any challenges we face. They are so much fun to be with and make each year more exciting. I can't wait for every race season to start so that we get to work together and laugh! "

Our volunteers say why they love to volunteer for Komen Houston:

"I enjoy volunteering for SGK because when on Race Day you are able to see the efforts of all those who contributed for the benefit of raising money that truly helps our own community.  It is a foundation where the money is used to pay it forward in an amazing way!" -  Rebecca Tallet

"I enjoy volunteering alongside the many dedicated and passionate individuals who come together every year to pull together the Komen Houston Race for the Cure - it's simply a very rewarding experience."  - Tracy Rohrbacher

"It has been an honor to serve as a volunteer the last few years for Susan G. Komen. All of us have struggled the path of dealing with breast cancer or have a family member or dear friend that has. It's such a pleasure to work with an organization that assists so many people with the care and support during their time of need. I've seen and heard some amazing results as a result of Komen Houston. The Race for the Cure alone never fails to put a tear in my eyes.  It's such a moving event to see all the survivors and their families." -Deena Billingsley

"My best friend asked if I would like join her team and I thought what better way to honor my mother who fought a long hard 5 years and lost her battle to breast cancer.  It has been a most rewarding experience.  I love what Houston's Susan G Komen is doing here, I see the difference it is making in people's lives!" -Michelle Mechling
