Those who knew Rosemary Wood knew that she was a spirited lady full of pizzazz. After her first diagnosis with breast cancer in 1995 she began supporting the Komen Houston by participating in the Race for the Cure® every year, walking with friends and family by her side. She felt led to participate in many breast cancer survivor events dressed in pink from head to toe, celebrating the victory over breast cancer.
Team Rose & Dana Tyson of Sunny 99.1 was formed 4 years ago to carry on the legacy Rose left behind after losing her battle to breast cancer in February of 2008. Rosemary Wood, our mother and dear friend, was an inspiration to us each and every day and we wanted to share her spirit and inspiration to all those affected by breast cancer.
Through a large network of friends and family and the wonderful union with Dana Tyson of Sunny 99.1 we have been able to share our mother’s story and let thousands know the fight is worth fighting and you are not alone. Live life to the fullest everyday and with a lot of pizzazz! We continue to raise funds in hope to funding a cure to protect the ones we love from this horrible disease. We take each step to honor those we have lost, celebrate those who have survived and protect those we love.
