Team Nicole Miller

Team Nicole Miller - Let's Do This!

How long you’ve been a team? We have been a team for more than one month.

How many team members do you anticipate you will have?  We anticipate to have around 50+ team members.

Why is the walk or support Komen Houston important to you?  My BFF of 20+ years was diagnosed w/breast cancer in March of this year.

Do you run/walk in support of someone?  If so, please tell us more.  Yes.  On March 30, 2012 Nicole received news that will forever change her life, as well as the lives of all those who know and love her. She was diagnosed with Stage Two Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Nicole's story of faith and courage has been one of beauty and inspiration for those of us who have had the privilege of walking alongside her during the last five months. By God's grace and the gifts of knowledge he's bestowed upon the doctors, nurses, and staff at MD Anderson, Nicole is winning this battle. While her journey has been excruciating and is far from over, her most recent scans and test results have provided encouragement and hope.  Nicole, her husband, and her children have participated in The Race for years.  It is no coincidences The Millers have had a passion for The Komen Houston Race for the Cure® for years. God carefully crafted a tender place in their hearts for this organization and the women it supports long before they would come face to face with the disease in their own home. This year they will be participating not only as supporters of The Race, but as fighters on the front line.

Does your team host special kick-off activities or fundraising events? We do not play any activities to kick off the event.

What does Race morning look like for your team? We are not sure what to expect.

Any special people that should be recognized on your team? Yes we want to recognized Nicole's children: Maddy who is 11 years old and Kyan who is 3 years old this year.
