How long you’ve been a team? In the Houston area, we’ve formed a team for the past two years. However, we first participated in a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® event in Chicago in 2008.
How many team members do you anticipate you will have? We hope to reach 200 race participants this year!
Why is the walk or support Komen Houston important to you? Chamberlain College of Nursing is united with Komen for the Cure® in our dedication to fight against breast cancer and in an effort to further increase access to nursing education.
Do you run/walk in support of someone? If so, please tell us more. We run/walk in support of all who have, are currently fighting or who have lost their battle against cancer.
Does your team host special kick-off activities or fundraising events? Our students, faculty and staff have been incredible in their efforts to help raise funds for Komen Houston.
What does Race morning look like for your team? We will all awake early, will gather together in the Team Meeting area and will walk together as hopefully one of the largest team in this year’s race!
Any special people that should be recognized on your team? Special thanks for our Co-Team Captains for coordinating this year’s Houston Race for the Cure®, Rasheda Davis and Yalixsa Custodio!
