Rochelle has been involved with Susan G. Komen® Houston for over 5 years. As a breast cancer survivor, she supports because she knows the importance of the work being done by the grant recipients of the funds that she helps raise each year. Komen Houston funds national breast cancer research and local community programs that offer education, screening, treatment and support services to underserved populations, and that is very important to Rochelle.
This year, Rochelle ranked #35 on the 2015 Pink Honor Roll for her phenomenal fundraising efforts in raising $4,335 to support Komen Houston’s mission – to save lives and end breast cancer forever.
“Seeing the huge crowd walking/running in support of the fight against breast cancer is a huge motivator and provides a sense of community and comfort to me personally. It is a scene that is overwhelming – very emotional. I walk in support of all breast cancer survivors and those who are currently fighting the fight. I also walk in memory of those who are no longer with us but always in our hearts” shares Rochelle.
