For the past 8 years, Michelle Brennan has participated in the Komen Houston Race for the Cure® to help fight breast cancer. Passionate about doing all that she can to help fight this disease, she supports Susan G. Komen® Houston and the annual Komen Houston Race for the Cure® to help find a cure and more importantly because she personally has had family and friends that have battled and have gone as she would share “to be with the Lord as fighters until the end.” Michelle fights with Komen Houston in hopes that more women and men are able to overcome this disease due to the national research being conducted to find better ways to treat and hopefully one day find a cure.
This year, Michelle ranked #78 in the 2015 Pink Honor Roll and raised $1,700 for her outstanding fundraising efforts. She is part of Team Schlumberger and shares that her favorite part about working with Komen Houston is feeling that she is a part of a BIG team fighting for one great cause! She walks in honor of her aunt and two classmates. Each Race season, her team hosts campus wide health fairs to promote the Race and encourage FUN-raising! The morning of the Race, the entire team gathers for a group picture and then race or walk together.
In 2015, she will walk in honor of another classmate and close family friend who were recently diagnosed with breast cancer. “I do not want any person to have to suffer. I will walk/fundraise every year that I have breathe in me, Lord willing.”
