2015 Pink Honor Roll Spotlight - Linda Younger

As a breast cancer survivor, Linda still remembers how much the Komen Houston Race for the Cure® impacted her the first year she walked after being diagnosed with breast cancer.  “I always find at least one newly diagnosed survivor to talk to because I will never forget standing in that crowd with my bald head feeling the love of those around me.” shares Linda.

This year, Linda ranked #73 on the 2015 Pink Honor Roll for her phenomenal fundraising efforts in raising $1,820 to support Komen Houston’s mission – to save lives and end breast cancer forever.  She participates in solidarity to support those fighting breast cancer right now, to honor the survivors that have beat breast cancer and to remember those who have lost their battle.

Linda has supported Komen Houston for more than 8 years.  Her favorite part about being involved is having the sense of satisfaction and pride to be part of an organization that provides so many resources such as breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.  These resources are being provided through programs that Linda is helping fund through her fundraising.

On Race morning, Linda and her team, Oh Cancer, Up Yours!, meet at the start line, listen to the Champion Sisters sing Amazing Grace and watch the release of the memorial birds to remember and honor those who have lost their battle to this disease.
