This year, Linda ranked #29 on the 2015 Pink Honor Roll for her phenomenal fundraising efforts in raising $5,300 to support Komen Houston’s mission – to save lives and end breast cancer forever.
“As a breast cancer survivor and fundraiser, Komen Houston makes me feel like I am the most important person in the world. Each year at the Race, thousands of people make me feel so loved and supported… I don't know exactly how they do it, but it keeps me motivated and coming back again and again.” she shares.
Karen has supported Komen Houston for over 10 years through the Race. She walks with her husband to remember their struggle together when she was fighting breast cancer and to support other family and friends that have also been affected by breast cancer. “My husband is my rock.” Karen shares.
At the Pink Honor Roll dinner last year, she was awed by the work being done with the funds that she helps raise. With the help of phenomenal fundraisers like Linda, Komen Houston is able to fund national breast cancer research and local community programs that offer breast health education, screening, treatment and support services to underserved communities. Together, we are able to make a huge impact in our community.
