2015 Pink Honor Roll Spotlight -Cindy Nations

Cindy supports the fight against breast cancer in the hopes that a cure will be discovered, that treatments will be improved and that prevention will be abundant.

This year, Cindy ranked #94 on the 2015 Pink Honor Roll for her phenomenal fundraising efforts in raising $1,410 to support Komen Houston’s mission – to save lives and end breast cancer forever.

She has been involved with Komen Houston for over 7 months and walks in support of her colleague Joanna Meinecke.  Joanna has been their firm’s administrator for 30 years and she is like family to them.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.  “We were all amazed at how well she has handled everything, maintaining her faith and positivity. She is a survivor!” says Cindy.

Their Race Team Jogging for Joanna had over 25 team members and held various fundraising events, including a specially designed t-shirt.  “We designed a t-shirt for our team members to wear on Race Day.  It prominently featured our team name, Jogging for Joanna.  We used humor to grab people's attention in an effort to promote awareness.  The shirt featured a pink ribbon over each breast area with the words, "Stop staring at my ribbons!" written underneath.  We won a prize in the t-shirt contest which was like icing on the cake!” shares Cindy.

She would like to thank the kind and generous people at their law firm who enthusiastically volunteered to participate and who are responsible for making this past year such a success.
