In loving memory of our Friend
In Alison's words:
First and foremost, I’m the mother of my adopted daughter, Sarina Alison Evers. I was blessed to be able to adopt her when she was only 48 hours old. Sarina was born in Corpus Christi in January 2003. Being the mother of a 3-year-old is awesome.
I am a two-time breast cancer survivor. I was first diagnosed in 1997 and underwent a very aggressive treatment protocol at MD Anderson that included high-dose chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. In 2003, when Sarina was 8-months-old I had what I like to call a “minor recurrence” in a few lymph nodes in my neck. Arimidex and radiation therapy took care of the recurrence.
I’m employed by Stewart Title as Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller. Prior to that I was a Senior Manager, Audit at KPMG. I am a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a BBA in Accounting.
My interest in The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation began in 1998 when I attended my first Pink Ribbon Reception and agreed to take on the position of Race Treasurer. Since that time I’ve held the positions of Race Underwriting Chair, Board Member, Treasurer (twice) and President. While 2006-2007 is my last year on the Board, I will always be a volunteer in some form or fashion. The “cause” is obviously close to my heart.
Until there’s a CURE, I remain
